La distancia entre Lula y Bolsonaro es la menor desde que comenzaron las encuestas, que llegaron a poner al exsindicalista al frente con 21 puntos de ventaja.

El nuevo sondeo del instituto demoscópico es también el primero después de los actos del último miércoles con motivo del bicentenario de la independencia y que terminaron convirtiéndose en manifestaciones de apoyo al líder de la ultraderecha, que busca la reelección para un segundo mandato y los utilizó para proselistismo.

Detrás de Lula y Bolsonaro se ubican el laborista Ciro Gomes, el tercer candidato más votado en 2018, que bajó del 9 % al 7 % de las intenciones de voto, y la senadora Simone Tebet, del Movimiento Democrático Brasileño (MDB), el más tradicional partido de la centroderecha en el país, que se mantuvo con el 5 %.

Para la encuesta, realizada a pedido del canal Globo y del diario Folha de Sao Paulo y registrada ante el Tribunal Superior electoral (TSE), fueron entrevistadas 2.676 personas entre el 8 y 9 de septiembre en 191 municipios. El margen de error es de dos puntos porcentuales para más o para menos.
