La Dirección Nacional de Control de Drogas (DNCD) y efectivos de la Armada de República Dominicana, coordinados por miembros del Ministerio Público, incautaron 60 paquetes presumiblemente cocaína, próximo a una embarcación tipo pesquera, que fue dejada abandonada, en las costas del municipio de Nigua, provincia San Cristóbal.
Las autoridades indican que realizaban labores de patrullaje disuasivo en ese litoral, cuando avistaron una embarcación encallada, en las costas del referido municipio, por lo que de inmediato se activaron las unidades tácticas y terrestres.
Al hacer contacto, la embarcación estaba vacía, iniciándose un operativo de rastreo y búsqueda en toda el área, encontrando a pocos metros dos sacos, conteniendo cada uno 30 paquetes, para un total de 60.
En la inspección las autoridades ocuparon dos motores fuera de borda de 75 caballos de fuerza, la embarcación de unos 28 pies de eslora, un teléfono satelital, un Gps, garrafones de combustibles, un tanque, comestibles, agua, entre otras evidencias.
El Ministerio Público y la DNCD profundizan las investigaciones en torno al caso y como parte de ese proceso se han interrogado a varias personas, mientras los equipos electrónicos ocupados están siendo sometidos a una experticia mas exhaustiva.
