El arsenal de armas ocupado en el operativo denominado operación KAF, compuesto por seis fusiles, dos pistolas y miles de cápsulas de distintos calibres, llegó a territorio dominicano en tanques con comida enviados a través de agencias (shipping) desde los Estados Unidos.

Así lo reveló una fuente ligada a la investigación del caso, quien explicó que las armas eran divididas en partes que se ocultaban entre los alimentos que serían embarcados, con el de evadir los controles.

Relata que una vez llegada al país la carga era recogida por sus destinatarios, los que apartaban las partes y la transportaban a la vivienda, en cuyo patio fueron halladas las armas, donde las enterraban en cubetas y personas ligadas a la red buscaban compradores.

Indica que luego que se hacia la negociación con grupos ligados al narcotráfico, una persona iba con una pala, desenterraba el arma y le entregaba al comprador y situación similar ocurría con las municiones.

Sostuvo que desde hacía aproximadamente tres meses estaba desplegada una investigación transnacional en la que participaban la Dirección Nacional de Control de Drogas (DNCD) y la Agencia Antinarcóticos de Estados Unidos (DEA).

Por el caso están siendo procesados Gregory Alberto Diplán Güichardo y Juan Miguel Almonte Padilla (Colita).

Las autoridades han informado que, en la operación, además de los seis fusiles y dos pistolas fueron ocupados 6,796 cápsulas, así como más de cuatro millones de pesos y más de 17 mil dólares en allanamientos realizados en Cristo Rey, en el Distrito Nacional; la Villa Olímpica y Los Frailes, en Santo Domingo, y en Licey al Medio, Santiago.

En estos se hallaron 6,689 cápsulas calibre 9mm, así como nueve cargadores para fusil, calibre 5.56 x 45, marca PRO MAG, dos cargadores para pistolas 9mm, tipo Tambor y uno para pistola, calibre 9 mm, con capacidad para 31 cápsulas.

Aplazan coerción

La jueza Yiberty Polanco, de la Oficina Judicial de Servicios de Atención Permanente de Santiago, aplazó este viernes la audiencia de solicitud de medida de coerción contra dos hombres, acusados de comercializar con redes del crimen organizado armas de fuego de alto calibre y distribución de drogas. La audiencia fue fijada para el próximo miércoles, a las 9:00 de la mañana.
