El babé fue llevado al Hospital de Niños Hasbro, donde determinaron que el menor era víctima de abuso infantil y que tenía siete fracturas en las piernitas, tres en los hombros y dos significativas en la cadera izquierda y la tibia derecha.

El hospital alertó del caso al Departamento de Niños, Jóvenes y Familias de Rhode Island (DCYF) y el menor fue colocado en custodia de la agencia estatal.
