Con una selección especial de siete cortometrajes nacionales e internacionales, como parte de los segmentos “Retrospectiva del corto dominicano” y “Throwback shorts”, quedó inaugurada la séptima edición del Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes Libélula Dorada, en las salas de Palacio de Cine de Ágora Mall y Sambil.

Katherine Bautista Bidó, directora del festival, resaltó que en esta versión hay una mayor participación de producciones locales.

“Este año me llena de mucha alegría que los realizadores dominicanos están mostrando más interés en participar de nuestro evento”, afirmó.

“Uno de los objetivos principales de este festival es demostrar la importancia de los cortometrajes y cómo un corto puede llevarse a un largometraje de éxito”, destacó Bautista Bidó, al poner como ejemplo la producción cinematográfica “Tiznao” de Andrés Farías, quien luego de presentaciones a nivel nacional e internacional, logró adaptarlo y convertirlo en la película “Candela”.

Sobre el desarrollo de la séptima edición del Festival Internacional de Cortometrajes Libélula Dorada, la también directora de la Asociación sin Fines de Lucro Libélula Dorada, informó que las producciones podrán ser vistas en las salas de Palacio del Cine de Ágora Mall, Sambil y a través de la plataforma digital www.pelidom.com.

Asimismo, invitó a actores, actrices, directores, productores y realizadores de la industria cinematográfica a participar del “Meet and Greet del cine dominicano”, evento que será realizado el miércoles 24 de agosto, a las 7:00 de la noche en el Palacio del Cine de Blue Mall.

La directora de Libélula Dorada apuntó que en esta séptima edición compiten 57 producciones y uno ha sido seleccionado para exhibición.

“Son cortometrajes que vienen de Irán, Serbia, España, Suiza, México, Puerto Rico, Alemania, Venezuela, Paraguay, Colombia, Estados Unidos, Brasil y de República Dominicana”, añadió.

Además de Katherine Bautista Bidó, también subieron al podio los representantes de Palacio del Cine, Egeda Dominicana, Dgcine, entidades patrocinadoras del evento, así como la delegada del jurado que este año escogerá las categorías ganadoras de este certamen.

Katherine Bautista indicó que las siete principales categorías a reconocer son: Corto documental en lengua extranjera, Corto documental en habla hispana, Corto experimental, Corto animación, Corto ficción hispana, Corto ficción lengua extranjera y Corto en la categoría ficción dominicana.
