La Alcaldía de Santo Domingo Este pretende capacitar, en una primera etapa, alrededor de 400 niños y adolescentes de diferentes barrios del municipio en música y para ello dejó iniciado un sistema de escuelas durante un acto en las instalaciones en la llamada «Parada de la Cultura», lugar donde se construyó la terminal de autobuses del Este.

El sábado, la Alcaldía y la Fundación AES Dominicana inauguraron el primer Sistema Municipal de Bandas de Música de República Dominicana que beneficiará a niños y niñas de los barrios Los Tres Brazos, Calero, Villa Duarte, Los Molinos, Los Frailes, Villa Faro, San Luis, Los Frailes II y en la Parada de la Cultura, frente al Parque del Este.

Las escuelas del nuevo sistema cuentan con un personal docente profesional y ofrecerán clases de música gratuitas de flauta, saxofón, trompeta, guitarra, clarinete, piano, bongo, entre otros instrumentos. Los padres y madres podrán inscribir a niños y niñas a partir de los 8 años después de participar de las audiciones correspondientes.

El alcalde Manuel Jiménez  y la vicepresidenta de la Fundación AES Dominicana, Bredyg Disla encabezaron el acto inaugural.

«Estamos trabajando para construir una ciudad con identidad, con cultura y con oportunidades de desarrollo para todas las expresiones del talento humano. A partir de hoy los niños y las niñas de los barrios de Santo Domingo Este tendrán espacio para aprender, crear y expandir lo mejor de la música de nuestro país y del mundo. De eso se trata nuestra propuesta de Ciudad Justa y Creativa», dijo el alcalde Manuel Jiménez.

Por su lado, Bredyg Disla, en representación de Edwin De los Santos, presidente de dicha entidad, dijo que nace un espacio del compromiso de la Fundación AES Dominicana por aportar al desarrollo cultural del país, a través de su mayor activo, los niños y los jóvenes.
