El alcalde de Miami (EE.UU.), Francis Suárez, el ministro de Hacienda dominicano, Jochy Vicente, y el expresidente de ese país Leonel Fernández figuran entre los expositores del Foro Global & Casa de Campo. El Futuro del Dinero, que se celebrará entre este lunes y el martes en La Romana (este).

Suárez disertará el martes sobre las políticas públicas para crear y fortalecer el ecosistema de innovación ‘fintech’, mientras que este lunes, el ministro Vicente pronunciará un discurso sobre la política económica implementada por el Gobierno dominicano en estos dos últimos años.

El exgobernante Fernández ofrecerá, también este lunes, una «amplia explicación» sobre los objetivos del foro en su condición de anfitrión y presidente de Funglode. 

El foro tiene previsto para mañana la intervención de Julia Smearman, directora de Mercados Financieros Internacionales del Departamento del Tesoro de los Estados Unidos.

El cónclave internacional tiene por objetivo principal «reflexionar» sobre las tendencias globales en los ámbitos de la economía, la política, el medio ambiente, la tecnología y la cultura, bajo la organización de la Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (Funglode) que dio a conocer hoy la información.

El encuentro, además, buscará «esclarecer» las dudas sobre cuestiones relativas a regulación, protección de datos, riesgos y volatilidad, estabilidad de los sistemas financieros en general, e incluso, las garantías que se darán en medio de este proceso de transformación para garantizar que se trate de una herramienta de inclusión.

El documento destacó que en 2022 la Organización para la Cooperación y el Desarrollo Económico (OCDE) declaró que el dinero estaba destinado a convertirse en digital.

«Ciertamente, el concepto del dinero ha ido evolucionando para alejarse del valor del objeto físico que le acuña y concentrarse en el valor de la riqueza que representa. Este fenómeno explotó luego de la crisis financiera global del año 2008 con el surgimiento de las criptomonedas y el ‘blockchain’, agregó Funglode.
