El presidente Luis Abinader, al resumir anoche las acciones del Gobierno durnate los  dos años de su gestión, destacó los esfuerzos realizados para mantener el proceso de recuperación económica y para proteger a la población mediante los subsidios, entre otras acciones económicas.

El mandatario indicó que desde que empezó la guerra de Ucrania, el gobierno ha desplegado un programa de subsidios para la protección de las clases trabajadoras, así como para los más vulnerables, de RD$42,800 millones, monto que dijo ha sido destinado especialmente a subsidiar los combustibles, el  arroz, el trigo y otros productos.

“Para que se hagan una idea, con todo este dinero se podrían construir 400 kilómetros de carreteras”, indicó Abinader en un discurso que inició con más de 30 minutos de retraso.

El jefe de Estado, manifestó que, ante la alta inflación que se registra, ha apostado decididamente por la producción agropecuaria, subsidiando de forma directa los fertilizantes y otros componentes utilizados en la producción.

Asimismo, señaló que ha dispuesto un aumento del subsidio directo al sector transporte para evitar el alza en el precio de los pasajes; y el subsidio de hasta un 10% en las importaciones de maíz, trigo, soya o harina y la grasa vegetal, así como la aplicación durante seis meses del 0% a los aranceles de los productos más importantes de la canasta.

Explicó que mantienen la política de subsidios focalizados con los programas del Inespre, el aumento de las transferencias a la tarjeta SUPÉRATE, del subsidio del Bono Gas y la ampliación de las raciones de alimentos en los Comedores Económicos, para lo que ha asignado RD$14,540 millones.

Crecimiento económico  

Al reseñar los logros económicos, el presidente Abinader fruto de las acciones del Gobierno para superar con rapidez las consecuencias del Covid-19, la economía creció a un ritmo de dos dígitos el año pasado y que según datos del FMI y las proyecciones del Banco Central, cerrará con un crecimiento de entre un 5% y un 5.5%.

Señaló que todo lo logrado en estos años, se ha conseguido “sin aumentar el peso de la deuda del sector público consolidado respecto a nuestro Producto Interno Bruto y con una reducción de la deuda del sector público no financiero que ha bajado del 49.7% en agosto de 2020 al 47.5% este mes de junio”.

El mandatario admitió que hay problemas puntuales en la economía criolla, pero que son transitorios y que el gobierno los “atiende con medidas y presupuesto”. Aprovechó para destacar como fortalezas “el nivel de reservas más alto de nuestra historia con US$14.500 millones; nuestros niveles de empleo son superiores a la etapa preCOVID; el turismo experimenta un crecimiento récord y las zonas francas cerrarán este año con el mejor dato de exportaciones de su historia”.

Abinader también refirió que el sector agrícola alcanzará la autosuficiencia en productos como el arroz, con una cosecha record de 14.4 millones de quintales el pasado año, el plátano, la papa y los vegetales.

Apuntó que estos logros se deben a la política de financiamiento, subsidios a los insumos, apoyo a la preparación de tierra gratuita, suministro de semillas mejoradas, programas de comercialización, mejoramiento de infraestructura de caminos, mantenimiento de sistemas de irrigación y el programa de titulación de tierra, como parte de la atención que nuestro gobierno está poniendo al campo.
